Do we provide the same experiences the whole year?
Not really. although we provide the same immersive approach, the experience depends on the stage of the agricultural cycle and the cultural traditions of the dates you book your experience. Therefore, this experiences are exclusive and unrepeatable.
How is this different from the “regular” tours offered in San Cristobal de Las Casas or Chiapas in general?
We want you to participate in the activities and share for a moment the life of the people of the communities so you can experience first hand this way of living.
What can you expect as a result of these experiences?
Deep understanding on how small scale agriculture works, how food systems are constructed from the bottom-up, how people relate and connect with nature as well as working year round to produce their own food. You could expect a better understanding on how hard it is to produce some of the food we eat everyday. Expect to learn how to cook the maize for tortillas early in the morning and then make them for lunch later the same day… Furthermore, expect to be in the present and grounded by the rhythm of rural Chiapas.
